About the translator:

I teach in the MFA and BFA programs in creative writing at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Although these translations were done with much labor and care, they do not reflect a trained background in Japanese language or literature, and I am very glad to have readers’ comments and suggestions. If I use a suggestion, I will certainly credit the source.
